Luckily, I don't recall entering my life in Seattle at the Madison Street Hospital. I only know it through the photograph I found from the address on my birth certificate. Google Street View shows that block now hosts a low rent office building and a TV broadcast tower.
Eventually everything physical changes and what you're left with is your memory of it. People, places and things. All the nouns.
. Even if the it is still around to jog your memory and whatever relationship you had to it, that memory is a revision and will be revised even more as you try to fill it in. There's only a vague connection to reality and others will remember the same thing a little or a lot differently.
Hence, Rain City Revisions: Misremembered embellished episodes from a life spent mostly in Seattle. And so far they don't include the TV tower where I was born.
